No prior knowledge of the Dark Web is required to attend this class. However, this is a hands-on class so students are required to bring a laptop with administrative privileges.
The Dark Web has become a platform for various illicit activities, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and cybercrime. As such, law enforcement officials must learn how to navigate this hidden part of the internet to effectively investigate and combat criminal activity.
This course is designed to provide law enforcement officers with the skills and knowledge necessary to conduct Dark Web investigations. The course will cover various topics, including understanding the Dark Web, accessing and navigating the Dark Web, identifying Dark Web marketplaces and forums, and conducting undercover operations.
Students will also learn how to use specialized tools and software for Dark Web investigations, including Tor, Tails, and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). They will learn how to analyze Dark Web data and identify patterns and trends, as well as how to collaborate with other agencies and organizations to gather intelligence and track down criminals.
The course will also address the ethical and legal considerations of Dark Web investigations, including the use of undercover agents, the Fourth Amendment, and privacy concerns.
By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct Dark Web investigations and effectively combat criminal activity on the Dark Web.
