- Investigating Straw Purchasing Patterns: Through detailed analysis and case studies, attendees will develop the ability to recognize indicators of straw purchasing schemes, how to use this data to further their investigation and identify a suspect(s).
- Identifying Appropriate Offenses: This module will provide training in analyzing and identifying the most appropriate charges related to different firearm offenses.
- Harnessing Digital & Physical Firearm Related Evidence: Participants will explore the different forms of firearm-related evidence and learn best practices for collecting, preserving, and analyzing this evidence from various sources to build stronger cases.
- Prepping for Trial: This block will emphasize the importance of adhering to legal and ethical standards in firearm investigations, including obtaining warrants, potential issues when building firearm related cases, and maintaining the integrity of evidence throughout the investigative process.
